My sister kindly sent me the link to Highs bandcamp page on Wednesday, I’ve been listening to the Highs EP ever since. They’re a cross between Local Natives, Of Monsters and Men and The Maccabees (guitar riffs). Have a listen and see what you think, I for one think they’re pretty special x
Basia Bulat: It Can’t Be You
I had the absolute pleasure of seeing the lovely Basia Bulat perform live at Bandstand Busking today. She started the set with this gem, It Can’t Be You, and had the whole crowd in the palm of her hand, in fact, the bearded man stood next to me had a hard time reigning in his exclamations of ‘WOW’ (definitely in capital letters) throughout the entire song, he was that impressed. I’d recommend seeing her live in a heartbeat x

Bob Dylan: Hand Lettering Experience
A very lovely person just pointed me in the direction of this awesome video. It’s all the lyrics (not just the odd word like in the original video) to Bob Dylan’s Subterranean Homesick Blues in beautiful hand lettering. Frame by frame, the awesomely creative Leandro Senna has created a truly lovely project that clearly took hours of care. Check out the website for behind the scenes photos.

Half Moon Run: Need it
My sisters had the pleasure of seeing Half Moon Run a few weeks ago, I opted out at the time having heard nothing but the current single. However, both sisters’ efforts to get me to listen doubled after seeing them live and they made me promise I’d check them out whilst I was at Latitude festival. Which I did. And they were oh so right.
Their live set was faultless (which is why I’ve chosen a live video, not from Latitude I’m afraid, although this one is and I’m pretty sure I was right behind the person filming it). I’ve now listened to the album Dark Eyes a number of times and am fully intending on seeing them at Shepherds Bush later this year.
