I’ve been a fan of London Grammar since hearing Hey Now at the beginning of the year. They have such a unique sound and thankfully every track they’ve posted on soundcloud since hasn’t disappointed. Wasting My Young Years is their most recent offering and I think it’s sublime. Have a listen x
I had the pleasure of seeing The Intermission Project at the Notting Hill Arts Club last night. These little heart-breakers were part of an awesome night of music, including Hopwood favourites Dancing Years, and Ajimal. I would definitely recommend seeing all three acts live if you get the chance x
Absolutely loving this cracking mashup by Daughter recorded on Zane Lowe’s show this week.
Perth (Bon Iver) vs Ready For The Floor (Hot Chip) – Who’d have thought that would work huh!?
I’m a big fan of the pencil. Here’s a collection of my current favourites:
Slick beats from New Zealand songstress Lorde.
My sister downloaded the Lorde EP a few weeks ago, it took me a few listens but I’m whole heartedly into it now. Royals is by far my favourite track, if only for the fact that it refers to a watch as a ‘timepiece’, I’m all over that ironic hipsterness like a rash.
For more of her tunes listen to her soundcloud page. It’s lush.
My sister and I celebrated our birthday by watching Paper Cinema’s Odyssey last night. We’d already seen the show at Latitude Festival in 2012 so knew how amazing it was going to be, even so I spent the entire show mesmerised and smiling from ear to ear. It really is brilliantly done.
If you’re in London, and you want to see live animation at its best then head to the Battersea Arts Centre, the show is on until the 9th of March. Go! x
I’ve posted about Night Beds before but the album, Country Sleep, was released this month and I can’t stop listening to it. Cherry Blossom is so precious – the vocal build gets me every time. Stunning x
