I am ridiculously excited about Autumn/Winter Knitwear! These Hopscotch.LDN designs make me so happy – they’re made to order and lovingly crafted by the coolest Hopwood around.

I had the pleasure of seeing three great acts at the Notting Hill Arts Club last night, two of them particularly shone out: Wise Children, and Susanne Sundfør.
Wise Children have been on my radar for quite a while now so it was lovely to finally see them live, here’s my favourite song from the EP:
I hadn’t heard of Susanne Sundfør before last night’s gig, but apparently she’s really well known in Sweden – and rightly so – her voice was amazing. White Foxes was my highlight of her performance:
1. A stalker friendly notebook: Detective Survival Guide Notebook by KIMU Design
2. I need this jumper in my life: Cooperative Mix Stitch Pullover by Urban Outfitters
3. Bought me this delight this week: London ABC by Doubleday Childrens, RHCB’s
4. Darn straight: Oliver Jeffers’ ode to Autumn via Anthropologie.
I couldn’t let it go past without mentioning that it’s Children’s Book Week this week. For me it’s pretty much always Children’s Book Week, to the extent that last week I thought I should probably read a grown up book, you know, to fit in with cohort, but upon remembering it was the best week of the year I have rapidly and far too happily swapped my copy of The Great Gatsby with John Green’s Paper Towns and Oliver Jeffers’ newest title This Moose Belongs to Me. I’m endeavouring to read a picture book a day, every day, either over my breakfast or with tea after dinner – who’s with me?! If you haven’t picked up a Children’s book in a while, do it, and use this week as an excuse to delve into the pages of artfully constructed stories with imagination, heart and hope.
Booktrust have an excellent Best Book Guide to help you make your Children’s Book Week choices. Let me know if you read any delights!
What with the release of the lovely Lucy Rose’s Like I Used to, and Mumford and Sons Babel, today’s track could have been overlook had I not received an email from the man himself* encouraging me to listen out for it, and boy am I glad I did. Usually known for his downbeat, super depressing musings, Keaton Henson isn’t one to get those feet tapping. But Kronos is epic. It’s full of anger, electric guitar and oomph, for Keaton Henson it’s quite a departure from his usual style, but darn does he get it spot on.
For full effect, listen to You Don’t Know How Lucky You Are first:
Then listen to Kronos:

*mailing list, but lets pretend he’s a pal.
I’ve had my eyes on these envelopes for a while now, I’m an avid collector of letter writing stationery and Papier Tigre have some pretty sleek looking gems hanging about their site. These Airmail style fold up envelopes are my favourite, it’s nice to have a modern twist on the much loved retro envelope. Look at how snuggly they fold together, a work of beauty!
I’m super excited to start the week with the release of Lucy Rose’s debut album ‘Like I used To‘, I’ve been listening to her Soundcloud page for yonks now so it’ll be nice to actually own her music – especially as there are a number of tracks I haven’t seen her perform live on the album so it should be a real treat.
‘Bikes’ is her current single and it’s accompanied but the cutest video. Have a listen!
A little treat for you this morning – The Candy Bar Creep Show EP by MS MR. I’ve had the tracks Hurricane and Bones on repeat at home for a while but finally bought the whole EP this week. It’s oozing with slick beats and lush (yup totally lush) vocals.
Just spotted these paper origami necklaces by Laura des Villes. Oh my. I’m now going to spend the rest of my day off attempting to make a windmill out of paper… it can’t be too difficult surely?!
